Let’s get AEROBIC!

Why is aerobics important for children?

Endurance develops when kids regularly get aerobic activity. During aerobic exercise, large muscles are moving, the heart beats faster, and a person breathes harder. Aerobic activity strengthens the heart and improves the body’s ability to deliver oxygen to all its cells.

The US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) recommends that children and adolescents ages 6–17 get at least 60 minutes of moderate-to-vigorous physical activity every day. Regular physical activity can help children improve their heart, muscle, bone, and mental health. It can also help them build strong bones and muscles, control their weight, and reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression.
