Play vs. Exercise Strategy #3May 20, 2013
Play vs. Exercise. One of the biggest mistakes adults make with children in
regard to physical activity is in the language. All children understand the word “Play” so use it
often. Younger children especially do not have a grasp of the concept of “Exercise.” To them
this is a very adult word. Play to them means fun, movement, enjoyment, laughing. The simple
use of this word will keep them moving for years to come.
